These no bake chocolate brownie protein energy balls can be a great way to quench your chocolate cravings while still getting some good nutrition. Cocoa powder is high in health-providing polyphenols and essential minerals. Plus it’s just good for the soul! With the fat from peanut butter, protein, a bit of fiber from the flour, and a yummy taste it has a high satiety index meaning it’ll keep you full after eating a couple. Involve you kids by having them help mix the dough or roll the dough into balls.

These can be used as a snack between meals and before or after workouts.

Brownie Protein Energy Ball Recipe

These no bake chocolate brownie protein energy balls can be a great way to quench your chocolate cravings while still getting some good nutrition.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup coconut flour may substitute for almond flour or oat flour
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter may substitute for almond, sunflower seed, or cashew butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • In medium mixing bowl combine all ingredients (flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, peanut butter, honey, and water) until dough is formed. You may need to add more water. Start with 2 tablespoons and increase by 1 tablespoon of water at a time as needed.
  • Form dough into 12 1-inch balls.
  • Place balls on parchment paper lined pan and chill for at least 1 hour in the fridge.
  • Once chilled, enjoy or place in airtight container in the fridge. Will last 5-7 days in the refrigerator.

Notes

Whey is the preferable protein type though any type may be used. Thorne Research Whey is one of my favorites. The water content may need to differ if not using whey protein. 
Roll balls in mini chocolate chips, cocoa powder, or shredded coconut for added flavor.
